“There are many new beers and some are presented here for the first time,” said organizer Yvan Devlaminck. “We have 12 non -alcoholic beers at the festival this year.” One of the tastemakers is Aunt Nonneke, an alcohol -free beer that, according to tasters, is wonderfully hoppy, soft in taste and nice scenting. “
According to Alexander Parmentier from Brewery Klootzakske, more and more people are looking for alternatives to alcoholic beer. “That has to do with the warm weather, health and road safety,” he explains. Beers with a low alcohol content also win terrain.
Brouwers eagerly respond to the consumption of low alcohol beers. For example, Brewery De Doetzet, together with a Gullegem colleague, released a Barley Wine that consciously contains less alcohol.
Despite the popularity, some visitors still have some reluctance to try alcohol -free. “I like to consider it, but today it is a home match,” laughs festival goer Brecht Demeire. “Maybe for another time. I have now come safely by bike.”
The festival already proves that the beer culture is moving, and that in addition to the classic beer there is more and more room for surprising, refreshing alternatives.
