The 84-year-old man from Tilburg who was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Breda on Tuesday has died. The police reported this on Thursday. The man collided with a car on the Tilburgseweg (N282) on his scooter.
The accident happened on Tuesday, October 7, just before noon, at the intersection of the Tilburgseweg with the A27 entrance ramp. Emergency services responded en masse. The scooter rider was resuscitated on the spot and then rushed to hospital. An air ambulance also landed near the site of the accident.
The Tilburg citizen later died of his injuries in the hospital, the police said. The motorist was not injured. Investigation showed that there was no driving under the influence.
The police are still investigating how exactly the accident could have happened.
