Scooter documentary “FCK 2020” shows HP Baxxter and Co. before and after the Corona period

The first documentary dealing with the German EDM pioneer HP Baxxter is now on Netflix.

In 2020, the corona pandemic meant that all major events had to be suspended. Musicians who depend on income from concerts suffered from this. This included the walking mood cannons of Scooter. For the “FCK 2020” documentary, a camera team accompanied HP Baxxter and his colleagues, who spoke openly about this complicated time. The film is now available on Netflix.

Insights into everyday scooter life without stages and discos

“FCK 2020” was directed by Cordula Kablitz-Post (“Tote Hosen – Tour 2018”) and ended up in German cinemas in January 2023. For two and a half years she accompanied Baxxter and the current members of Scooter. A few former companions of the platinum blonde North German also had their say to talk about their time in the group.

Above all, the focus of the almost two-hour documentary was on the concert-free time at the height of the Covid pandemic and the gradual return to “normality”. Baxxter and other interlocutors gave a few rare insights into their private lives and shared their thoughts and concerns about the situation at the time.

For Baxxter himself, it was important not to cover up anything in the first documentary about Scooter. He himself campaigned for a portrayal of himself that was as truthful as possible. In an interview with “NetflixWoche”, the Hamburger by choice said about the strip: “I wanted it to be as authentic as possible and not a commercial. As a result, of course, I don’t always come across as super likeable and there are also scenes in which I throw a tantrum. But I think Cordula [Kablitz-Post] did a great job and that was also the feedback I got from others.”

FCK 2020 has been available to stream on Netflix since August 30th.
