Next shock for the PCK refinery (supplies Berlin and Brandenburg)! The Polish seaport of Gdansk does not want to pump oil to Schwedt in the event of a Russian import freeze – because other customers were faster.
“The Leuna refinery has secured part of the Gdańsk oil,” said Brandenburg’s Economics Minister Jörg Steinbach (66, SPD) of the BZ “The rest goes to Polish customers. The PCK does not get any oil from Poland.”
The Swedes had opted for Gdańsk oil. As an addition to the pipeline from the port of Rostock, which can only replace half of the current volume from the Russian “Druzhba” pipeline. With stronger pumps and flow additives, it should be 60-65 percent. Another ten percent should come from Gdansk.
But the Poles refused because Putin’s state-owned company Rosneft is PCK’s main owner. The federal government wants to change that – but now the competition has secured Gdańsk oil.
The federal government rejects replacement deliveries from Kazakhstan. “That also runs through Russian territory,” said Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Michael Kellner (45, Greens), “and I want us to be independent if lines are interrupted.”
