He must have been a person of great trust, now he is in litigation with the Schumacher family. Markus Fritsche, former security expert for the Formula 1 champion’s family, is accused of extorting his employers. The man, together with an accomplice (Yilmaz T.), allegedly asked the Schumacher family for around 15 million euros not to share something like 900 private photos, Schumi’s digital medical records and 600 videos.

the story

Fritsche (who now says he regrets his actions) allegedly made several phone calls to members of the Schumacher family asking for the payment to be split into two parts. At the end of the session he promised to deliver the hard drives containing the data in his possession. Having received the first phone call, the Schumacher family would have filed a complaint. The first hearing took place this morning at the Wuppertal District Court. Fritsche and his accomplice appeared calm. Before the reading of the indictment, Judge Birgit Neubert approved the request of Schumi’s wife, Corinna, to join the civil action in her own name and in the name of her husband Michael. In this way the family has the opportunity to present requests in the process. For example, you could make a request to keep the details of the former pilot’s health private. “The data accessed is extremely sensitive – said the public prosecutor -. The Schumacher family does not want to reveal the state of health of Mr. Michael Schumacher. The data in question provides considerable information on this very issue”. This is, among other things, Schumi’s digital medical record. “It will also be up to the court to decide how this data will be used and introduced into the proceedings and whether this will take place in a public hearing or not.” Already at the first hearing, ten witnesses were called.

THE APOLOGIES – “I admit it. I was the one who did this crap – said Yilmaz -. Please tell the family that I am really sorry. I thought I could earn some money with the story. The sum had to be divided by three. It must have been between 10 and 15 million euros. I downloaded the files and copied them onto four USB sticks. I asked my son to create an untraceable email address.”
