The 32-year-old West Friezin still had a contract until 2026 with the skating team. After an extremely successful skating career, Schouten decided to put an end to her career at the beginning of last year. At the request of the team, she remained affiliated with AH Zaanlander. “In the past period, we looked together at an appropriate interpretation, but in the end there was insufficient basis to continue together,” the team writes in a press release.
“I am happy that we finally came to a solution. I have had a super beautiful time with the team for 10 years. I wish them every success for the future,” Schouten looks back.
