Schlager star dies after a heart attack

His heart stopped beating. Pop singer Oliver Frank (“Italian Longing”) died at the age of only 58. As BILD learned, he succumbed to the consequences of a heart attack.

Way too early! His fans in the Ruhr area and in his homeland of Lower Saxony are now mourning the singer. After all, no one sang about “longing” as beautifully as he did…

His manager Moritz Andersen confirmed BILD: “Our longtime artist and friend Oliver Frank passed away on Friday after a short and serious illness. We are deeply shocked. We will miss Oliver immensely.”

Oliver Frank was born in Göttingen and most recently lived there again. In 2020 he celebrated his 35th stage anniversary.

With the hit “Italian longing” from 1996, he appeared in the legendary ZDF hit parade for the first time, after which he also entered the German single charts with “Nothing but the truth”.

Since then he has released 23 (!) Schlager albums. Above all, the “Italian Longing” makes him immortal, which is still in continuous rotation at many hit parties.
