Aircraft that use the Buitenveldertbaan are over Muiden, Weesp, Diemen, Amsterdam-Zuidoost, Duivendrecht, Buitenveldert, Amstelveen-Noord and the Amsterdamse Bos.
For residents of those areas it will be a quiet summer, because the track will remain locked up to and including 28 September. In that period, among other things, several asphalt layers of the track, the foundation, the cabling and the surrounding lanes will be replaced. Some parts have never been replaced since the opening of the track in the late 1960s and therefore more than fifty years old.
At (South) Westenwind, the Buitenveldertbaan is replaced by the Kaagbaan and the Schiphol Eastbaan. Those jobs are almost parallel to each other, from southwest to northeast (or vice versa). Because of that location, it is the most suitable jobs to replace the Buitenveldertbaan (from west to east, or vice versa).
Consequences of extra deployment Kaagbaan
That means that other areas get more aircraft noise for their molars. Extra use of the Kaagbaan will mainly be marked in our province in Haarlemmermeer. Aircraft that come from the North Sea are flying via Katwijk/Noordwijk towards Abbenes to continue to descend to Schiphol over Nieuw-Vennep (see right image below).
Starting planes from the Kaagbaan to the north will turn away between Hoofddorp and Nieuw-Vennep to the north (see left image below). Flights to the east and south bend south of the Westeinderplassen, and then come across Leimuiderbrug, Leimuiden, Nieuwkoop and Mijdrecht.
