32 teams, three countries, three weeks – the 2025 Handball World Cup promises high excitement. Who will make it to the round of 16 and which teams will have to withdraw early? At t-online you will find an overview of the complete schedule with live tickers and TV dates.

The 29th Handball World Cup will take place from January 14th to February 2nd, 2025 in Croatia, Denmark and Norway. The German national team starts the tournament on January 15th against Poland. Group A continues on January 17th against Switzerland and on January 19th against the Czech Republic. Should the DHB team reach the main round, they can meet the teams from Algeria, Denmark, Italy and Tunisia.

The 2025 World Cup is the third handball world championship that will be played with 32 nations. Four teams play in eight preliminary round groups. These games will be played in Herning (Denmark), Poreč, Varaždin and Zagreb (all Croatia) and in Oslo (Norway). The top three teams from each group make it to the main round. Four new groups will be created there, each with six teams.

The main round is followed by the quarter-finals with the first and second place teams in each group. The co-system applies there. The fourth-placed teams from the preliminary round play in two groups of four in the President’s Cup for World Cup positions 25 to 30.
