Schalke 04 lets striker Bryan Lasme (26) and goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann (25) go. Both players had been released for negotiations with other clubs, the Royal Blues said on Monday. At Hoffmann it has been clear for a while where things should go.
Hoffmann’s change after the situation in the Schalke goal was clarified in favor of Justin Heekeren (24) was considered a formality. The successor, Loris Karius (31), should already be determined. An announcement about the free transfer signing of the former Mainz and Liverpool goalkeeper will be made soon. Hoffmann should move to former club Eintracht Braunschweig. The goalkeeper is initially loaned there. According to media reports, a clause was negotiated that prevents Hoffmann from being able to play in the direct clash between the clubs on Saturday (1 p.m.).
There were also signs of Lasme leaving Gelsenkirchen in the summer. However, it was nowhere near as clear as it was with Hoffmann whether the Frenchman would take the step in the winter. There has so far been no reliable information about Lasme’s destination. In the current season he only came onto the field once in the 2nd Bundesliga for more than half an hour and made short appearances five other times.
