Bosnia’s national player Edin Dzeko suffered a shoulder injury during World Cup qualifying. FC Schalke 04 will probably have to do without the striker for the time being. Coach Miron Muslic is initially planning without Dzeko.
The worst fears of FC fans Schalke 04 seem to be true: Edin Dzeko is threatening to miss the upcoming second division game against Karlsruher SC next Sunday (1.30 p.m.).
The striker sustained an injury shortly before the end of the World Cup qualifying game between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Italy (4-1 on penalties). According to a report by the Bosnian football portal SportSport, “an operation on the collarbone is unavoidable.”
“Edin Džeko suffered a shoulder injury in the international match on Tuesday evening. His shoulder will be examined in detail, and the diagnostics will continue after his return to Gelsenkirchen. Head coach Miron Muslic is planning for the home game against Karlsruher SC without Džeko,” the Royal Blues announced on Wednesday afternoon.
