The success coach Christian Titz from second division team 1. FC Magdeburg has apparently received cancellations from FC Schalke 04, 1. FC Köln and other clubs in the last few days and weeks.

The “kicker” reports. Accordingly, in addition to FC Schalke 04 and 1. FC Köln, Hannover 96 and the English second division team Norwich City did not want to work with Christian Titz.

Titz ‘contact with Schalke seems particularly intense. “Sky” even reported at the end of May that the S04 managers had committed themselves to the former HSV trainer as the new head coach.

So there was already loose contacts between the parties early. At the time of the report, the talks are said to have been concrete and far advanced. Titz also lured the coaching position on Schalke because his family lives in the Meerbusch district, i.e. only about an hour’s drive from Gelsenkirchen.

But: As is well known, there was no collaboration. Instead, Schalke committed the Austrian Miron Muslic, which is largely unknown in Germany from the English second division relegated Plymouth Argyle.

Christian Titz does not end up at 1. FC Cologne

Titz did not land at 1. FC Köln either. Instead, the Bundesliga club secured the services of the ex-pater born Lukas Kwasniok, which was also traded on Schalke.

Titz ‘future remains open, just like the future occupation of the coaching post at 1. FC Magdeburg. According to the “kicker”, Markus Fiedler (VfB Stuttgart II) is currently the top favorite. The 39-year-old is to take up his new position by the start of the training on June 18 at the latest.

Titz hired in mid -February 2021 in Magdeburg. Under his direction, the Saxony-Anhalt played for a long time for the promotion in the past season, but finally missed it as fifth in the table.
