SC Paderborn has introduced 39-year-old Benjamin Weber as the new sports director. Thomas Tuchel’s former assistant, who worked as a video analyst at Chelsea, will become the sporting director of the sixth-placed Bundesliga team. He had vacated his post in London with Tuchel in September. Weber has worked under the former BVB and PSG coach since Mainz, later also in Dortmund and Paris. Weber himself has been with the zero fives since 2006, previously also under Jürgen Klopp.

“We are very happy that we were able to win Benjamin Weber for SC Paderborn 07,” said SCP President Thomas Sagel. “He has all the technical and human skills to stabilize and further develop our football at a high level. In addition to the successes of our professional team, we also have an eye on the further optimization of our youth work.” Weber himself will speak about his project at a press conference on January 6th.
