Second newcomer for next season

After Albert Millgramm, SC Paderborn has presented its second new signing for next season. Timur Gayret is moving from SC Verl in the 3rd league to Ostwestfalen. Since the midfielder’s contract is expiring, the 27-year-old is joining the SCP on a free transfer. Gayret has never played higher than in the 3rd league. With Paderborn he will play at least in the 2nd Bundesliga, but the East Westphalians are still in the middle of the promotion battle.

“We are pleased that we were able to reach agreement with Timur for the coming season so early on. He is a strategist in the central midfield who determines the rhythm of the game and exudes a great goal threat with his left foot. Timur has excellent vision and pass security and is a perfect fit for our SCP07, both athletically and personally,” said sports director Sebastian Lange about the new addition, who recorded five goals and ten assists in 30 games for Verl this season.

Gayret, who is leaving Verl as vice-captain after two years and 67 appearances, explained: “I am extremely grateful to everyone in charge in Verl for the time we spent together. The move from Halle here has made me the footballer I am today and has had a positive influence on me both in terms of sport and character. But the time to ‘say thank you’ has not yet come because we have the chance to achieve something historic and I will invest everything in that until the last second.” The sports club is currently in third place in the 3rd league and, like the SCP, is fighting for promotion.
