SC Magdeburg continues its monster series

SC Magdeburg is still heading for the quarter-finals in the Handball Champions League after a victory.

The defending champion defeated the seven-time Polish champions Wisla Plock with 28:22 (13:14) and secured second place in Group B with 18:4 points behind league leaders FC Barcelona (20:2), which leads to direct qualification for the round of the best eight teams would be enough.

The Bundesliga table leaders, who had already won the first leg 28:26, have been unbeaten in 30 competitive games in a row since September.

However, a lot of hard work was necessary against Plock, and it was only shortly after the break that coach Bennet Wiegert’s team took the lead for the first time. The best throwers were Tim Hornke and Lukas Mertens with six goals each.
