SC Freiburg extend with U21 national keeper Atubolu

Bundesliga club SC Freiburg has prematurely extended the contract of Germany U21 goalkeeper Noah Atubolu.

The Breisgauer only extended the 20-year-old’s contract in June last year, SC sports director Klemens Hartenbach said that Atubolu had “developed noticeably again. The current sporty model is obviously good for him”. The club did not provide any information about the new term.

Atubolu, who has been through the soccer school of the current runners-up in the Bundesliga since he was 13, is looking forward “to the next few years here at the club and with the boys”.

Atubolu is currently set in the German U21 national team, and he also guards the goal of the Freiburg reservists in the 3rd division. Since the beginning of last season, he has also been the number three in the Bundesliga squad’s goalkeeping team, but he’s still waiting for his debut.
