Some gamers may already be familiar with the PlayStation Store Wishlist. What many do not know, however, is that it hides a practical price tracker function.

Again and again, Sony offers games at reduced prices in the PlayStation Store. This comes in handy if you like a game but don’t necessarily want to pay full price for it. But instead of scouring the store for the game they want every time, gamers can simply use a feature that’s built right into the console. What is meant is the wish list, which sends a notification when a game you are looking for is cheaper in the PlayStation Store.

Few know about the price tracker feature

Although many have already heard of the wish list in the PlayStation Store. However, a survey by the US portal “SlashGear” has shown that almost a quarter of those surveyed did not know that they can also use it to track prices. In doing so, the function that Sony introduced at the end of 2021, very simple. If you save a game in your personal wish list, it will send you a notification if the price goes down. This can be as part of a PlayStation Store sale – or simply because the developer is now selling the game cheaper.

Wishlist disappeared from PlayStation Store without a trace

When Sony finally shut down the PlayStation Store for the PS3 in late 2020, the company removed Wishlist from the store entirely. It did come back a short time later with a newly designed store page. How to use Wishlist in PlayStation Store

The wishlist is available on the PlayStation Store of the PS4 and PS5, as well as in the smartphone app and in the browser version. If you see a game you like in the store, you can add it to the wish list by clicking on the heart symbol. Another setting is required so that the wish list also tracks the prices for the stored games.
