When “Saturday Night Live” went on the air for the first time at NBC on October 11, 1975, critics gave the Kalauer cabinet less than a year. Now the comedy show is already in the 50th season and celebrates its own anniversary with a large special edition.

For the “Snl50: The Anniversary Special”which will be broadcast on February 16, there is now also a line-up that has it all. Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Miley Cyrus, Bad Bunny, Dave Chappelle, Kim Kardashian, Martin Short, Pedro Peyton, Peyton Manning, Quinta Brunson, Robert de Niro, Sabrina Carpenter, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Martin , Tom Hanks, Woody Harrelson, Ayo Edebiri, John Mulaney and Adam Driver invited.

They will all appear when recording in Studio 8h. Other names are to be announced.

“Saturday Night Live” celebrates itself

The anniversary number is the completion of an extensive series of celebrations related to the comedy program of “Saturday Night Live”. This also includes the documentary “Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of Snl Music” staged by Questlove. For decades, the show has been offering musicians one of the country’s largest television stages. Numerous appearances went into history or made headlines.

There will also be a special edition for the musical part of “Saturday Night Live”. As early as February 14th, Dave Grohl, Lady Gaga and Jack White appear in the Radio City Music Hall in New York City to let SNL live up.
