With a message on social media, the singer put to rest the rumors about her participation in Sanremo 2026

Rumors have been circulating for days about a possible participation of Laura Pausini at Sanremo 2026. Insistent rumours, relaunched on social media and taken up by some weeklies, which even speak of a role at the helm of the Festival. The digital tom tam, however, has reached such proportions as to force the singer from Solarolo to intervene directly. And to put the tombstone to rest on the rumors with an official denial.

The bond between Laura Pausini and Ariston has its roots in the history of Italian music. It all started in 1993when he triumphed among the New Proposals with the timeless Loneliness. Just a year later, he returned to the competition with Strange lovesand came third; then, he did it super guest on multiple occasionsin 2001, 2006, 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2022.

Regarding the management of the Festival, however, Pausini had already clarified his point of view in the past, recalling that Rai had searched together with Paola Cortellesi. “So far I haven’t accepted because I don’t feel able to handle it,” he explained. “And if one day it were to happen I wouldn’t be the artistic director because I’m plagiarized, I have my favorites and I’m not able to cast properly, I would only put my friends“.

The reference is to the new single created in partnership with Yami Safdie.
