Sanremo 2024, who are the co-hosts and co-hosts

Mexactly one week from the beginning of Sanremo Festival 2024. The 74th edition of the most anticipated musical and television event of the year kicks off on Tuesday 6 February and will run until Saturday 10 on Rai 1. On each evening Amadeus will be accompanied by a co-host or co-host.

Sanremo 2024, who are the co-hosts

Marco Mengoni will inaugurate the festival week. In fact, he will be the one to support the host and artistic director during the first evening. The 2023 winner with Two lives It comes in a double guise. In addition to wearing the role of the host, you return to honor the tradition inaugurated by Amadeus, that is, the artist who triumphed the previous year opens the event. Diodato did it (winner in 2020), as did Maneskin (2021) and Mahmood and Blanco (2022).

And then there’s Fiorello. The companion Ciuri – the nickname with which Loves call your friend and colleague – he is the co-host of the final on Saturday 10 February. Theirs is a partnership that has been going on since 2020, when Fiorello took on the role of traveling companion at the first Amadeus Festival. Experience repeated in 2021 and partially in 2022.

In 2023, however, he led Long live Rai2… Long live Sanremo!the night-time version of his morning show broadcast on Rai 2moved for the occasion to Rai 1. An experience that he will repeat again this year, together with Fabrizio Biggio, Mauro Casciari and the new entry Alessia Marcuzzi.

The co-hosts of the Festival: Giorgia, Teresa Mannino and Lorella Cuccarini

On the other three evenings there will be space for women. The second evening, Wednesday 7th, sees Giorgia on stage. Singer participated in Sanremo 2023 with Words said badly, finishing in sixth place. On the cover evening she hosted Elisa for a thrilling duet to the tune of Light (Sunsets in the North-East) And Of Sun and of blue.

The 2023 marked his return to Ariston 22 years after his last participation in the race: it was 2001in fact, when he took second place with Of Sun and of blue. The debut, however, dates back to 1994 among the Nuove Proposte con And then. In 1995 he won with How would I know and in 1996 she ranked third with My fate is strange. During the evening he will sing And then thirty years after its release.

Teresa Mannino is the outsider, the unexpected name that Amadeus pulled out of the hat. Born in 1970, she was consecrated by the stage of Zelig. Her comedy, characterized by recognizable irony and language, won over the public. In parallel with his television career he continues his theater career. In fact, she will be on tour until the end of April with the show The jaguar looks at me askancealready sold out throughout Italy.

Among the five, she is the only debutant: for her it is the first time in Sanremo. She is the co-host of the third evening, on Thursday 8 February.

In the end, Lorella Cuccarini on the fourth evening, Friday 9 February. The most televised of the three, she is also a veteran of the Festival. In 1995 he participated among the Big with the song Not another love, written by her husband Silvio Testi together with Vincenzo Incenzo, ranking tenth. Even before, in 1993 he co-hosted it alongside his pygmalion, Pippo Baudo.

In 2023, however, she returned to the covers evening as a guest of Olly, with whom she sang – and danced – her famous hit The night flies.

Hosting aside, viewers are waiting to hear the songs in competition. 30 this year, the highest number in the history of the Festival. The group is made up of the 27 Bigs chosen by Amadeus who were joined by the top three in Sanremo Giovani: Clara, Santi Francesi and bunkr44.

The duets on the covers evening

As per tradition, the fourth evening is dedicated to covers. The duets, that is, which feature the singers competing with their guests. Unlike the other evenings, they do not sing the song with which they presented themselves at the Festival.
