Linda Lampenius gets the money back from Sanom. PASI LEISMA

Sanoma Media Finland will refund the price of the magazine advertisement to violinist Linda Lampenius. Tells about it Suomen Kuvalehti. The case dates back to 2001, when Lampenius had to buy a full-page apology notice from Ilta-Sanom and give an interview to IS reporter Rita Tainola.

This is because Canadian millionaire Peter Nygård of Finnish background would no longer demand 60 million mark compensation from Lampeniuk for defamation.

In 1997, Lampenius had been to California on a trip, in which Tainola also participated. Lampenius told 7 Days – magazine that he met Nygård on that trip at his villa in the Bahamas. Nygård had presented photographs of naked women. Lampenius said in an interview that no one should send Finnish girls there.

Lampenius therefore apologized in the announcement and in the IS story. Lampenius had incurred hundreds of thousands of euros in legal fees measured in today’s money.

In September of last year, Finnish-born businessman and fashion designer Peter Nygård was sentenced to 11 years in prison for four sexual crimes in Canada. The victims of sexual crimes have been three women and one 16-year-old girl.

Peter Nygård received a long sentence. PDO

Iltalehti’s former publisher and editor-in-chief Kari Kivelä hoped in his memoirs published earlier this year Punk and media boss (Otava) that Sanoma would return the money to Lampenius.

Lampenius told For Helsingin Sanomat I cried when I heard about it.

– It’s such a big thing that you can’t even explain it, Lampenius said.

He says he ran into financial and health difficulties due to Nygård’s pressure.
