RRome, 15 December. (askanews) – Emily settles in Rome, finds love and a new professional challenge at the head of the Agence Grateau, and little by little he discovers Italy and his new identity. The highly anticipated fifth season of the series “Emily in Paris” starring Lily Collins arrives on Netflix on December 18th. Filmed between Rome and Venice, it brings the protagonists back to the fore: the ambitious Emily Cooper, her acrobatic friend Mindy Chen played by Ashley Park, the elegant and casual marketing executive Sylvie Grateau played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu who in Italy gives in to the charm of Raoul Bova, while Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini, takes an increasingly central place in the protagonist’s life. And in Italy of course, in Venice to be precise, the actors presented this fifth season together with the creator, producer and screenwriter Darren Star.
The protagonist said: “Every year the characters evolve and grow, I think that in the first season Emily was trying to find her own voice, now she tries to manage it as best she can, both in her work and in her love life. I think she has grown a lot in her profession, she has gained more confidence in herself. With each passing year she feels more at ease with herself, she is more down to earth. We all know that in life, when this is the case, you can deal with drama and the unexpected in a more concrete and mature way. This is Emily this year.”
And speaking of her long Italian experience, in particular in Venice, Lily Collins said: “I would never have imagined that the series would bring us here. I had never been to Venice, obviously I had seen many photos, many films of the festival, but when I found myself on the boat, entering one of the canals, I saw the Grand Canal, Piazza San Marco from the water, the colours, I was literally shocked. When I opened the window of my hotel room then… I asked myself: will I have this view every day? Not I could never have imagined such beauty!”.
