Sanna Marin, who rose to international club circles from Arkadianmäki, is today a globally known influencer whose style is of interest both in Finland and internationally. Marini’s Independence Day outfit is one of the most anticipated of the party night.

Marin has been celebrating Independence Day at Linna’s party since 2015, although she was first seen at the president’s Independence Day reception in 2013. During this time, the country’s most famous people have missed out twice due to the corona pandemic, so Marin has celebrated independent Finland at the president’s reception a total of eight times.

Even though the dress code of Linna’s parties gives women the opportunity to show off, Marin has nevertheless relied on a fairly classic line every year. No excesses have been seen on Marin – at least not yet.

In 2013, Marin attended the President’s Independence Day reception for the first time, when he was the chairman of the Tampere City Council and the party was organized in Tampere House due to the renovation of the Presidential Palace. At the time, Marin celebrated independence in a chic black outfit with one, embellished shoulder. The dress code for more modest parties was also more modest, and it also allowed short hems and, for example, hair left open.

In 2015, MP Marin, then 30 years old, stepped into Linna’s party for the first time. She was dressed in a unique Marimekko outfit, which her assistant reportedly found in a Marimekko outlet store. The outfit was finished with Kalevala jewelry, a red bag and a belt. The whole thing was traditional, suitable for Independence Day, but maybe even a little boring when compared to Marin’s current style.

Since then, Marin, who has trusted Finnish fashion, celebrated independence in 2016 with a German designer of Isabell de Hiller in a dark blue outfit. The jewelry was Kalevala’s Snow Flower series, with which Marini’s shoes matched perfectly in terms of color.

In 2017, Marin arrived at the Independence Day reception in a black slip dress by R/H Studio. The outfit is stylish and timeless in many ways – it would look good on Takuu even in 2024. The dress with a generous hem was the perfect choice for pregnant Marin. Although this dress does not shout out the feeling of a party, it is an easy and safe choice for any evening party. As you know, at Linna’s party, you could dress so spectacularly that you will be remembered by others at Takuu. However, it was not yet time.

At the 2018 Linna party, Marin arrived in a white, long-sleeved evening dress designed by a designer known for her feather costumes Anni Ruuth. At that stage, it was not known that the dress in question would later also be Marin’s wedding dress. Long sleeves are still trendy today.

Marin switched to a clearly more spectacular style in 2023, when he was already a former prime minister. The most awaited guest at the castle party showed up at the party in a yellow and gold outfit designed by Katri Niskanen. When the yellow outfit was combined with the blue badges of honor, Marin’s outfit was seen as a statement about the situation in Ukraine.
