Suggestive installation of the great Italian construction site in the eighteenth -century courtyard at the State University: Wind Labyrinth celebrates the happy meeting between nautical, art and sustainable innovation

There is a space that immediately makes you want to take the sea in the Cre-action interior exhibition-event, hosted by the University of Studies and one of the most important poles of Milan Design Week: it is that of Sanlorenzo, which occupies the entire eighteenth-century courtyard with Wind Labyrinth. An immersive work that translates the essence of navigation into an enveloping sensory experience: the sail labyrinth becomes a metaphor of the sea as a space without borders, where the wind guides the exploration and defines the path. The choice to raise the sails does not have to amaze, even if Sanlorenzo is a large motor -to -motor superyacht specialist: the installation brings, in fact, the universe of Nautor Swan stage, because the mythical Finnish construction site that was previously managed by Leonardo Ferragamo has recently joined the group based on La Spezia. “With Wind Labyrinth we wanted to interpret and celebrate the essence of Nautor Swan, the last star that became part in our galaxy. And once again confirms Sanlorenzo’s commitment to respect the planet, in which every element, from design to nature, contributes to an ecosystem of excellence and innovation”, underlines Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo.

The signature of Lissoni

The installation, curated by Piero Lissoni – artistic director of Sanlorenzo since 2018 – is configured as a labyrinth of sails, rays and bows, all recovered through a process of upcycling, and suspended in a harmonious dialogue between lightness and structure, evoking the continuous movement of the sea. The setting – definitely successful – aims to transport visitors to a dreamlike dimension, where the play of light and shadow, the transparency and fluidity of the sails create an impalpable and sophisticated atmosphere. “After all, even if the sea has no visible obstacles, it is as if it were a great labyrinth. The idea was to build a fact of wind, water and sails” explains Piero Lissoni, one of the masters of world design. And it is clear that Sanlorenzo thus confirms his pioneering role in the nautical scene, projecting his commitment to Carbon Neutrality and technological innovation in this scenography, testified in 2024 by three revolutionary projects such as 50steel (the first superyacht in the world with reformer cell reforming system powered by green methanol), Bgh-Hsv of Bluegame (Chase Boat A Hydrogen that took part in America’s Cup) and Swan 88 Dreamcatcher, winner of the Eco Award to Design & Innovation Awards, thanks to its advanced Diesel-Electric hybrid propulsion system.
