Sani Brännfors, 18, won the World Championship gold

Sani Brännfors is a world champion.

Finland Sani Brannfors has won the amateur under-21 World Championship gold in Belgrade, Serbia.

18-year-old Brännfors beat Mexico in the quarterfinals of the tournament Vania Odette Rodriguez Garcia with a back stranglehold and Croatia in the semi-finals Matea Josipovic by technical knockout.

In the final, he played against Slovakia Eva Erdélyiová. He was handled by Brännfors with a unanimous vote of the judges.

The Finnish promise competes in the 61.2 kg midget category. He represents the Oulu Wrestling Club and is the 2022 World Youth Championship gold medalist.
