There are still a few months until the launch of “Practical Magic 2” – but Sandra Bullock has already captivated the Internet. On Tuesday, the actress opened her Instagram account and shared her first post in honor of the upcoming sequel.

With the caption “Midnight somewhere…”, the short clip shows Bullock aiming an imaginary pistol at a mixer – which then mixes a margarita as if by magic. The playful video references the famous “Midnight Margaritas” scene from the 1998 original, in which Nicole Kidman and Bullock play cursed witch sisters Gillian and Sally Owens.

Bullock’s Instagram premiere coincided with the stars’ appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday night. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bullock and Kidman debuted the hotly anticipated sequel and shared a new trailer that shows three generations of witches in the beloved House on the Rock – which was specially rebuilt – as Bullock’s character passes on her skills to her two daughters.

The ensemble returns

Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing are also back and will once again take on the roles of the magical aunts Jet and Franny. The ensemble is completed by Joey King, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod and Lee Pace.

“Twenty-five years ago, Sally, Gillian, Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny from Alice Hoffman’s beloved novel flew onto the world’s big screens, and we are thrilled to bring back the Owens family of Joey, Lee, Maisie, Solly and Xolo,” the film team said in a statement announcing Practical Magic 2. “The enduring affection for these characters has inspired us to tell the next chapter of the Owens story for both new fans and those who have been there since the beginning.”

Meanwhile, Bullock is stoking nostalgia for the sequel. Under Kidman’s Instagram post, which showed the Owens sisters reuniting on set last summer, a comment from Bullock suddenly appeared: “Oh we’re so back.”
