The World Handball World Cup ended disappointing for Norway Sander Sagosen. After the tournament, the back area specialist is now breaking new ground.
Handball star Sander Sagosen joins the Danish champion Aalborg HB with immediate effect. The Norwegian, one of the best back room players in the world, moves from the Norwegian Kolstad IF club to Aalborg. The association bought the 29-year-old from his contract valid until 2027 and equipped it with a new working paper for four and a half years, as Aalborg announced.
It is a return for Sagosen: from 2014 to 2017 it ran for Aalborg. Then he played for three years at Paris Saint-Germain before joining the THW Kiel. He was under contract with the German record champions from 2020 to 2023. In the summer of 2023 Sagosen returned to his home country and joined Kolstad IF.
“I have never hurried that I experienced some of the best years of my handball career in Aalborg,” said Sagosen. He is looking forward to the return and wants to help “not only win the Danish championship, but also the Champions League”.
With the commitment of Sagosen, Aalborg reacts to Lukas Nilsson’s failures, which is missing due to injury, and Miguel Martins, who was suspended due to suspected doping.
From summer, Sagosen will be teammate of national player Juri Knorr, who will move from the Rhein-Neckar Löwen to Aalborg for the coming season. Knorr signed a contract with the Danish champion until 2028.
