Sancho return? First star makes you sit up and take notice

Captain Emre Can was the first professional from Borussia Dortmund to comment on Jadon Sancho’s supposedly approaching return to BVB.

“I would be extremely happy about it because I think a lot of Jadon,” said the national player in a “Sky” interview at the training camp in Marbella. “If he comes, he will help us.”

Sancho is “a difference player, 100 percent,” Can raved about his former teammate. “He’s always good for a goal or an assist. He has extreme talent.”

Can is not afraid of discipline problems with Sancho like in his first time at BVB. “He’s getting older and more mature. I think he’s improved in that respect,” said the 29-year-old.

Can was unable to provide a water level report on the status of the negotiations. “I don’t know how far it is, whether he’ll come or not, but it would definitely be nice,” the BVB captain made clear.

“Bild” reported on Thursday that Sancho’s current employer Manchester United and Dortmund had now agreed on a loan until the end of the season. Only minor tax details still need to be clarified. Sancho should sign the agreement with BVB as quickly as possible and travel to Marbella on Friday, it was said.

Will BVB secure a purchase option for Jadon Sancho?

According to consistent media reports, Borussia will only pay around three million euros for the “prodigal son’s” six-month guest appearance, including the loan fee and salary.

However, it is currently completely unclear whether BVB will secure a purchase option for the 23-year-old Englishman.

Sancho’s contract with ManUnited runs until 2026. However, he has been suspended for months after a falling out with coach Erik ten Hag and therefore has no future with the English record champions.

The Red Devils transferred a whopping 85 million euros to BVB for Sancho in the summer of 2021.
