Football dwarf San Marino mocks Liverpool FC

Liverpool FC have lost six of their last seven games. This not only increases internal pressure, but also brings with it some derision.
Liverpool FC is going through a difficult sporting phase – and is now receiving ridicule from an unexpected source: the San Marino national team is making fun of the English champions’ exit from the League Cup. “Please play against us,” it said on the football dwarf’s X account (last in the FIFA world rankings).
After the 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening and the associated exit in the round of 16, the Reds’ negative series continues. It was already the sixth competitive defeat from the last seven games. Coach Arne Slot’s team was only able to convince recently in the 5-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.
A little later, San Marino upped the ante again. A common Internet meme was taken up in a separate post: It shows Tobey Maguire in the film Spiderman, who only recognizes the San Marino logo without glasses – if he puts the glasses on, the image turns out to be the Liverpool FC club emblem.
San Marino has lost all eight of its international matches this year. The comparison, which is not meant entirely seriously, refers to the losing series of the football dwarf and that of Liverpool FC.
Liverpool coach Arne Slot is unlikely to laugh about it. Because the Dutch master coach is gradually coming under pressure. The “Reds” urgently need to win the home game against Aston Villa next Saturday. The gap to league leaders Arsenal is already seven points.
