Sami Seliö: World Championship silver for F2 boats

Sami Seliö celebrated the World Championship silver for F2 boats in Portugal.

Sami Seliö won silver in the World Championship of F2 boats in Portugal on Sunday. It is known to be the first time that a Finn has reached World Championship medals in the F2 series.

Seliö is a two-time world champion in F1 boats.

Seliö finished third in the World Championship final of the F2 class in Portugal. The competition was won by Norway Tobias Münthe-KaasGerman Stefan Hagin was another.

Third place was enough for the Finn to secure a World Championship medal. The world championship was taken by the United Arab Emirates Mansoor Al Mansoor.

Seliö represents the team Sharjah from the United Arab Emirates in the F2 series.

He won the F1 world championship in 2007 and 2010.
