The complaint from Maurizio, father of the 32-year-old driver, who disappeared in Germany: “Their only concern was to restore the track to resume the race. They defined the accident as normal administration”
An “avoidable” tragedy, an accident “defined as ‘normal administration’ by the organisers” and the aim of “changing something so that certain things no longer happen”. The memory of Maurizio Salvadori becomes a denunciation in reconstructing the circumstances of the disappearance of his son Luca, who died last September in Frohburg, Germany. The 32-year-old rider was racing in an IRRC superbike race, the International Road Race Championship, when he lost his life due to injuries sustained after a collision with hay bales. “It was enough to place the protections vertically, parallel to the track, to avoid the tragedy”, is Salvadori’s regret in a video published on his son’s YouTube channel, during which he announces that he has sued those responsible for the motorcycle competition.

“Their only concern was to restore the track to restart the race”, is Maurizio Salvadori’s attack against the organizers of the Frohburg race, who during an interrogation with the police would have defined “the intervention of the police forces as superfluous order. People like this must be removed from responsible roles in the competition.” And regarding the judicial process undertaken, he continues: “It is long, difficult and very expensive. I understand that it is the first time that a lawsuit has been brought in the case of a fatal accident. But it is my duty to do so. Something must change because certain things do not happen anymore.”
