Salihamidzic etches against Manchester City

Manchester City secured their first Champions League win in club history with a 1-0 win over Inter Milan. However, England’s success did not cause a storm of jubilation among all football fans.

Nick Salihamidzic in particular was extremely annoyed by the Skyblues’ victory and etched against the Citzens via the “Twitter” short message service. The son of former Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic wrote: “I really hope that Bayern will knock City out next year, I can’t watch it right now.”

It is not the first time that the native of Munich has caused a conversation with a Twitter post. In recent years he has used the platform more often to defend his father. This was often criticized mainly because of his transfer policy.

Salihamidzic again with a disappointing loan station

Should Manchester City and Bayern Munich actually meet in the coming season, the German record champions will need a significantly better performance to survive against ManCity. In the quarterfinals of this year’s Champions League season, Munich did not look good in the games against the English triple winners and were eliminated after a 0:3 in the first leg and a 1:1 in the second leg.

Unlike his father, Salihamidzic is returning to Bayern Munich this summer. The right-back has been on loan in Italy since the end of January 2023. However, the 20-year-old was not used by second division club Cosenza Calcio. His loan to Vancouver from July 2022 to the end of December 2023 was similarly unsuccessful.

Salihamidzic is under contract with FC Bayern until 2025. The man from Munich has been on the pitch twice in his career for the second team. In 2015 he moved from the youth of Unterhaching to the Bayern campus.
