Sales grow by 30 percent in the first quarter

Asics Corporation closed the first three months of fiscal 2023 with strong sales growth in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. “This was an incredibly strong financial quarter for Asics EMEA,” said Carsten Unbehaun, CEO, Asics EMEA. “We achieved record sales and grew in all categories. As always, we are committed to our wholesale partners and I want to thank them for their continued support.”

In the first quarter, Asics was able to increase its sales in the EMEA market by 30.2 percent compared to the previous year. This emerges from current figures presented by the Japanese sporting goods company on Wednesday. In terms of operating profit margin, Asics achieved an increase of 15 percent compared to the first quarter of 2022.

Broken down by sales channel, Asics EMEA was able to grow in wholesale and e-commerce. In the wholesale business, the sports goods retailer reported growth of 34.4 percent compared to the previous year. The company recorded significant growth in the markets of Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands with 45.2 percent, France with 69.5 percent, Germany with 39.2 percent, Iberia with 55.5 percent, Italy with 57 percent, Sweden with 55, 1 percent and Great Britain with 15.6 percent. There was an increase of more than 30 percent in online trading.
