There is a huge crisis between the long-time goalscorer and the “Reds”. Now Mo Salah has vented his frustration – and hinted at saying goodbye to Liverpool.

Is the situation surrounding Mo Salah at Liverpool now escalating? The long-time striker and superstar of the “Reds” was once again only on the bench in the 3-3 draw at Leeds United on Saturday and was not even substituted on by Liverpool coach Arne Slot. The Egyptian was only used for 45 minutes in the last three Premier League games: one half the day before in the 1-1 draw against Birmingham, and the week before (2-0 against West Ham), Salah also spent the entire game on the bench.

Now the 33-year-old has vented his frustration – and he is embarking on a confrontation course with Slot and the Liverpool management. “To be honest, I’m very, very disappointed. I’ve done so much for this club over the years and especially last season,” said Salah after the Leeds game. The attacker explained that he felt “thrown under the bus.”

“Now I’m sitting on the bench and don’t know why,” said the offensive star, adding that he feels “abandoned” by the club. It was “very clear that someone wanted me to take all the blame.” The top English club has been in crisis for weeks, and fell to eighth place in the table. Many promises had been made to him in the summer, but now he “can’t say that they have kept their promises,” Salah explained.

What’s more: The relationship with coach Slot has suffered extremely, says Salah: He had actually often emphasized that it was good – but now “suddenly we no longer have a relationship.” He has “the impression that someone doesn’t want me at the club,” explained Salah, who has been on the pitch at Anfield since 2017 and has scored 250 goals and prepared 116 more goals in 420 competitive games.

“It’s unacceptable for me. I don’t know why this is happening to me. I don’t understand it,” Salah continued in an interview with “TV2Sport”. “I’ve done so much for this club. I don’t have to fight for my position every day because I’ve earned it.”

He even hinted at a farewell: He called his mother, Salah explained, and invited her to the game against Brighton and Hove Albion. The Premiere League game on December 13th will be Salah’s last before he travels to the African Cup with the Egyptian national team. “In my head I’m going to enjoy this game because I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
