Sainz’s pole position at F1 US Grand Prix – Breaking Motorsports news



In the Formula 1 World Championship, the 19th leg of the season will be the US Grand Prix, Ferrari team’s Spanish driver Carlos Sainz will start from the first row.


Sainz won the first pocket with a time of 1 minute 34,356 seconds in the qualifying laps of the race to be held on the 5.5 kilometer America Track in Austin, Texas. The 28-year-old pilot reached the second pole position of his career.


Charles Leclerc, who took 2nd place 0.065 seconds behind his teammate, was replaced by Max Verstappen (Red Bull team), 0.092 seconds behind the leader, as he received a 10-place penalty due to power unit changes.


Sergio Perez (Red Bull), 0.289 seconds slower than Sainz, also dropped to 8th place due to his penalty. Thus, Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who laps the track 0.591 seconds slower than the leader, placed in the 3rd pocket.


The 56-lap race will start at 22:00 CEST.
