In a small American town, the 23-year-old Clare Bleecker (Bella Thorne) lives with his grandmother (Rebecca De Morney) after being orphaned. The girl, who attends a Catholic school, is quite solitary and, apparently, she is the classic high school student, but in reality Clare is a ferocious serial killer. Guided by voices, like a modern Joan of Arc, that lead her to punish anyone who dares to even try to harm her loved ones, Clare is responsible for a series of murders that are never discovered.
The small and sunny town in which he lives, in reality, hides in its bowels sinister presences that plot in the darkness and, after having committed her umpteenth murder, Clare is about to meet them. In fact, the balance of his secret life is shattered when one of his last murdersdescribed in the first minutes of the film, drags her into a bigger tangle. Made of corruption, greed and systemic violence which nestles in the seemingly quiet town.

An imperfect but engaging thriller with an unforgettable ending. The review
Based on the novel Clare at Sixteen by Don Roff, the film directed by Mitzi Peirone It immediately strikes with its strong stylistic imprintwhile leaving a feeling of discontinuity in its overall development. In fact, from the first scenes, the direction focuses on a marked, at times almost excessive, aesthetic, which becomes one of the most recognizable elements of the work. The use of images, colors and atmospheres helps to create a precise identity, capable of capturing attention even when the story seems to lose direction.
However, it is on the narrative level that the fragilities emerge: the structure appears fragmented and overloadedwith an accumulation of ideas that are not always developed satisfactorily. The result is a feeling of dispersion, as if Saint Claire was trying to say too much without being able to effectively organize their ideas. Bella Thorne’s performance also fits into this context: the actress demonstrates stage presence and intensity, managing to sustain several key momentsbut it still remains limited by a writing that does not offer it a truly fully accomplished evolution.
Despite everything, the film maintains a certain ability to engage thanks to its energyto his eccentric character and a breathtaking ending that is difficult to forget. Precisely this irregular nature, made up of successful intuitions and evident limits, ends up defining its identity and making it anyway one of the most interesting contemporary horror films of recent years.
