Sahara dust may cause spectacular sunrises and sunsets in the coming days

It has been on the weather maps for several days: Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week with temperatures between 16 and 19°C. Subtropical air will then originally be supplied to our country from the south. That air comes directly from Africa and will also push a fair amount of Saharan dust into our latitudes between Tuesday and Thursday. “The presence of the dust can cause the air to become cloudy and in the morning and evening it can also cause beautiful orange-red sunrises and sunsets,” says Samuel Helsen, weatherman at NoodweerBenelux.
