The late Easter date and higher ticket prices inspire Europe’s largest low -cost airline Ryanair.
In the first business quarter until the end of June, the company earned more than twice as much as a year earlier with 820 million euros. Good business is also emerging for the summer, even if the ticket prices should not increase as much as in the past few months. The Ryanair share jumped to a record high after the news in Dublin.
In Dublin, the paper temporarily increased by almost ten percent to 25.40 euros and was thus acted more expensive than ever before. Most recently, their course was 4.97 percent in plus 24.25 euros. The competitor Lufthansa share won 0.81 percent at the same time to 7.5 euros.
The Irish further away from the German air traffic group on the stock exchange: with a market capitalization of around 26 billion euros, Ryanair is far ahead of the Lufthansa Group, which, together with its daughters such as Swiss, Austrian, Brussels and Eurowings, comes to just 9 billion euros.
In the first business district until the end of June, Ryanair earned 128 percent more than a year earlier. CEO Michael O’Leary expects that the profit will increase properly throughout the financial year by the end of March 2026 and thus exceed the 1.6 billion euros from the previous year. However, it was too early for a concrete forecast, he explained to the number template in Dublin on Monday.
From April to June, Ryanair promoted 57.9 million passengers and four percent more than in the same period last year. The company benefited from the fact that the Easter date fell unlike April this time than in the previous year. Ticket prices even attracted 21 percent, and sales increased by 20 percent to 4.3 billion euros. At the same time, Ryanair kept their own costs under control: they only grew by five percent.
With a view to the main travel season in summer, Ryanair reported a strong ticket request. The Ryanair tip expects the tickets to reach the only on average the level from the summer of 2023. In the summer of 2024 and also in the entire past financial year, they fell by seven percent.
O’Leary Ryanair’s flight offer would be too happy to expand faster and stronger, but the company lacks enough new jets. For the current financial year by the end of March 2026, the manager only expects an increase of three percent to 206 million passengers.
Because Ryanair continues to suffer from the problems of the troubled US aircraft manufacturer Boeing. This has been significantly after the delivery of new machines due to quality defects, two crashes and almost an almost accident.
O’Leary now expects the manufacturer to catch up on its deficit until next summer. The still missing 29 types of type 737 from a large order should now arrive at Ryanair before summer 2026.
The manager also hopes that Boeing will receive the long -awaited approval for the long version of the 737 Max at the end of the current year. The first 15 copies for Ryanair are to be delivered to the Irish in spring 2027.
O’Leary had flirted several times in recent years to switch to another aircraft manufacturer. But the world’s largest manufacturer Airbus from Europe has been fully booked with its jets from the A320neo model family up to the next decade. So far, there are no other alternatives: The Chinese model C919 from the manufacturer Comac has so far only been approved for use in his home country.
Ryanair could delay the assumption of Boeing machines due to tariffs
With a view to the upcoming deliveries of Boeing, Ryanair could wait for the customs negotiations between the USA and the EU. The cheap airline, Boeing’s largest European customer, is considering delaying the assumption of some 737-Max machines.
Ryanair currently does not urgently need the jets that are to be delivered by the end of October. CEO Michael O’Leary said that a trade agreement between the EU and the USA would include an agreement on civil aircraft.
Although the EU is considering tariffs for US goods, the manager does not assume that it would have existed in the long term. Ryanair has a fixed price agreement with Boeing, which is why the aircraft manufacturer for tariffs should pay. Ryanair would try to reduce the stress, among other things by accepting aircraft about the British subsidiary, which is freed from tariffs.
