RWDM undergoes the law of the strongest against Club Brugge, which unpacks with seven

Blauw-zwart started strongly and got a dot of a chance after five minutes via Antonio Nusa. The young Norwegian squeezed past the RWDM defence, but found the sleeper in his way at the crescent. Ten minutes later it was a price for the team from Bruges. Maxime De Cuyper provided a neat cross, Philip Zinckernagel (14.) unpacked with a buffalo punch, which RWDM goalkeeper Theo Defourny had no recourse to.

Club couldn’t enjoy its lead for long. Alexis De Sart’s cross found Florent Sanchez Da Silva (16.) at the far post and he simply put it in. It again went quickly to the other side when Nusa Andreas Skov found Olsen (18.) at the penalty point and he rammed the ball into the roof of the goal. RWDM came close to an equalizer just before the break, but Simon Mignolet made a great save on the attempt of man-in-form Mickael Biron.

Another match with at least five goals

Blauw-zwart dominated the game and quickly sealed the fate of the team from Brussels after the break. Kyriani Sabbe pushed through on the left and passed to the released Igor Thiago (52.) who simply tapped in. Defourny also made it a little too easy for the team from Bruges by letting a cross from Skov Olsen (63.) slip in. Nusa (74.) then completed another five-hit by Club by following well on a shot by Raphael Onyedika that hit the post. Tajon Buchanan (78.) also picked up his goal more by popping up at the second post on a corner and heading in. RWDM defender Abner (90 + 2.) recorded the heavy 7-1 final figures by sliding a cross from Sabbe into his own goal.

For Club it is the fourth game in a row that it has scored five goals or more. In the Conference League, the Icelandic Akureyri was twice the victim with 5-1 and 1-5, last week Eupen lost 0-5 in the competition. Blauw-zwart takes the lead in the Jupiler Pro League thanks to AA Gent’s big win and draw, one point ahead of Union SG and Anderlecht. RWDM is ninth.
