Olcay Gulsen states that her ex-lover Ruud de Wild has blocked her so that they can no longer have contact with each other. “I find that quite strange, but he wanted to break everything.”
For four and a half years, Olcay Gulsen and Ruud de Wild shared joys and sorrows with each other, but after their poorly viewed real-life soap on NPO 1, the two broke off their relationship. She already said last spring that he would prefer no more contact, and now she adds talk show from Farja Farvardin admits that the radio DJ even blocked her.

How does Olcay look back on that showbiz relationship? “As far as I’m concerned…I think we’re just not right for each other. That’s the reason we broke up. As far as I’m concerned, we can have contact, but Ruud just blocked me. He didn’t want any more contact with me. I think he might find it too confrontational or something.”
“Or maybe he’s like: you’re part of my past and no longer part of my present. I do have contact with other exes. I just think it’s nice to part ways in harmony. He texted me that he found it too difficult to have contact, so he wanted to break contact.”
New relationship
You would think that Ruud would be over Olcay now that he has a new relationship himself. “I think so too, but yes. Some people close things off and don’t want anything to do with it anymore.”
She continues: “We never had an argument and we parted very harmoniously, so I thought that action was quite strange compared to how we parted.”
Spark back
Anyway: Olcay regularly emphasizes how happy she has become after that break. She has hair spark back again, she says herself. “I just had a period… I had a relationship with Ruud, he got sick and that’s suddenly everything. Your whole world then becomes about the disease process and that was quite a difficult period.”
That made her quite sad. “I think I have been there for him very much, but in the meantime you also compromise a little on your own happiness in life. You deal with that every day.”
Nice things
Even after the end of that relationship, that gloom remained a bit in Olcay. “When our relationship ended, it simmered on for quite a while and suddenly I felt like the old Ol again, I did a lot of fun things and had so much energy again,” she explains.
“And then I thought to myself: why did I get stuck in something for so long that didn’t make me happy? I have mine spark back!”
