Moving scene directly at the start of the “double pass” at Sport1 on Sunday: Moderator Ruth Hofmann has announced a very special personal news.
“She is always a bit of a lone fighter here” started “double pass” host Florian König. “But we can reveal a secret today: she has reinforcements today,” König continued and gave it to Hofmann. “I also brought someone with me, a very special guest,” said the 38-year-old. “He doesn’t need an extra lash in the round. It is in good hands with me here. I’m pregnant.” Thereupon applause opened in the audience and in the discussion round, which Hofmann visibly stirred.
After the show, Hofmann also divided the good news on her Instagram channel and presented her 87,000 followers her baby bump.
Despite the gratifying news, Hofmann will continue to be used for the sports broadcaster. She explained that she would still moderate until summer. “I’ll end the season.” However, the summer break is already well planned, says Hofmann.
The moderator has been part of the Sport1 team since 2016. In addition to the double pass, she presents the top game of the 2nd Bundesliga on Saturday evening and leads through the new live format “Spotlight”. The journalist had switched from Sky to the savings channel, and mainly moderated football and tennis broadcasts.
