RussNeft called the publication of the Daily Mail about the reasons for the departure of Lord Skidelsky a provocation

RussNeft considers the publication of the British tabloid Daily Mail another provocation of the British press towards Russia. This was reported to RBC in RussNeft.

The day before the Daily Mail published material, which said that the British Lord Robert Skidelsky resigned from the board of directors of RussNeft due to the fact that the company fell under sanctions. “On reflection, I decided that it is not worth joining the board of directors of a company against which sanctions have been imposed,” the newspaper reports the words of the lord.

“The company refutes the publication’s information that Lord Skidelsky left the composition of its board of directors in connection with the sanctions against RussNeft. Firstly, no sanctions have been imposed on the company in any of the jurisdictions, therefore, no one has any restrictions in cooperation with RussNeft in any status,” the company explained.

“Secondly, in his letter of resignation from the board of directors, Lord Skidelsky called the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the reason for the decision to resign from the board of directors,” RussNeft noted. Quarantine restrictions that were introduced in connection with the pandemic prevented Skidelsky from attending in-person meetings of the board of directors and performing her duties.
