Trump fails due to her own promise to the ceasefire
President Donald Trump sharply criticized Wladimir Putin on Tuesday in a contribution to Truth Social. He wrote that the Russian president “plays with fire” while Moscow continues his war against Ukraine.
Trump has difficulty observing his election promise to convey a ceasefire between the two nations. And this weekend there have been some of Russia’s fatal attacks on Ukraine for months.
RT makes fun of Trump’s statements
RT, a state -controlled Russian media company, finds Trump’s warnings of Putin amusing. “President Trump warns Moscow and claims that thanks to him, Russia only avoided” really bad “consequences,” RT wrote to X. “‘Putin is not aware that he is playing with fire!’ Trump’s message leaves little space for misinterpretations until he writes the opposite tomorrow morning. ”
The article contained a screenshot from Trump’s Truth Social Post in which he mocked Putin. “What Vladimir Putin does not understand is that without me Russia, many really bad things would have happened. And I mean really bad. He plays with the fire!”, The President wrote. And indicated that he protected Russia.
Just last week, Trump said that he and Putin said an “excellent two -hour conversation” and posted Truth Social that Ukraine and Russia would “immediately” accept cease -ups and that the phone call was “very good”.
Praise and criticism: Trump’s contradictory attitude towards Putin
The phone call took place after Trump Putin, who had started the war, had brought enormous grace and had largely blamed for the conflict to former President Joe Biden and even the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj.
Trump pushed the guilt on Selenskyj last month when he was asked about a Russian attack. Russia and Ukraine carried out a large prisoner exchange at the weekend. What Russia did not stop from starting attacks in which at least 12 people were killed in Ukraine. Trump visibly annoyed the aggression, who wrote on Truth Social on Monday that Putin had “gone completely crazy”.
Review: Trump’s earlier statements about Putin
“I always said that he wants the whole Ukraine. Not just part of it. And maybe it turns out to be right now. But if he does it, it will lead to Russia!” Added Trump.
In 2022, Trump described Putin’s invasion in Ukraine as ‘ingenious’ and “clever”. According to BBC, the Kremlin said that Trump’s hard comments about Putin were “in connection with an emotional overload of everyone involved”.
Putin has apparently promised to write a “peace memorandum”. But he didn’t send the document to Trump. What Trump, according to CNN, prompted Tuesday to consider new sanctions. A group of Republicans in the Congress also calls for sanctions against Russia. The Kremlin announced on Tuesday that Putin and Trump had approved a prisoner exchange between the United States and Russia.
Trump: “That was just a joke”
Trump has made the war between Russia and Ukraine an important issue of his government. During his presidential campaign in 2024, he repeatedly said that he would end the war between Russia and Ukraine in office on his first day. He later said that this promise had been made “in joke”.
