Figure skating legend Yevgeni Plushenko ordered his 12-year-old son Alexander’s to skate when seriously ill, Sport24 website news.
Father and son had roles in the show that was shown in Russia on Monday Sleeping Beauty -in the ice show, and in Jevgeni’s opinion it was not even heard that Aleksandr did not participate.
– He had a fever all night and is sick. He was in rough shape. We thought it was all over. But there were no options – he had to perform, the father says.
The Olympic champion recalls how he too had to skate by force at times during his career. For example, it would not have been possible to not compete in the World Championships, no matter what the condition was.
So the legend made his son act with a violent trick.
– We pumped him full of painkillers, and he skated like a hero, Plyushchenko praises.
