Russia wants to win Arctic race: Putin approves construction of new nuclear icebreaker

Russian President Vladimir Putin has given the green light for the construction of a new nuclear icebreaker. The ship, the Stalingrad, can sail through ice three meters thick. Russia already has the largest fleet of icebreakers in the world and wants to further increase its presence in the Arctic region.
