Russia has warned it could supply its latest weapons systems to the regime of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro after the United States boosted its military presence in the Caribbean. According to Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Rybakov, the “unwarranted build-up of US forces in the southern Caribbean” is creating a tense situation “for which the United States alone is responsible.”
