Russian authorities have opened criminal proceedings against Oleg Orlov, one of the leading activists of the human rights organization Memorial, on charges of “discrediting” the Russian military. The NGO, one of the fellow laureates for the Nobel Prize at the end of last year, announced this on Tuesday.
