At the start there was a dangerous scene between Norris and Piatri. At the front, one of them pulled his circles. In the end it got exciting again.

George Russell made the Mercedes Coup perfect at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Briton won the Yas Marina Street Circuit and surprisingly celebrated his second success of the season. On Saturday, Russell had already secured the pole position unexpectedly and was now entering a confident start-finish victory. Second became world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) ahead of Lando Norris (McLaren).

The first world championship title has already been awarded: McLaren defended the constructor title of the past year six races before the end of the season-because Norris’ teammate, the World Cup leading Oscar Piatri, took fourth place over the finish line. This makes McLaren unthinkable in the constructor evaluation. The two teammates had delivered a gripping duel at the start, the racing cars of the two even touched.

In the driver classification, the Australian Piatri is now 22 points in front of Norris and 63 points in front of world champions after the next slight damping, who has to continue waiting for his first Singapore victory.

The working day was disappointing for Nico Hülkenberg. After a rotary in his clean racing car, the Rhinelander came to the finish line. The mood with Mercedes-Mann Russell, who won confidently from starting place one and collected further arguments for an extension of the contract with his second win of the season.

At the start, Verstappen had to give up despite the supposed advantage with the softer tire set against Russell. The Brit had grabbed the pole position on Saturday with a track record and defended first place against the defending champion that started next to him.

Behind it, the McLaren drivers came threatening. After a few meters, Norris squeezed past the third -placed stable rival Piatri. The World Cup leader promptly complained to the box radio. “Is that cool for us that Lando just pushes me out of the way?” Asked the Australian audibly annoyed and added: “It wasn’t very compatible with the team.” But the McLaren command and the racing commissioners did not intervene, as much as Piatri scolded.

Verstappen also reported on the radio, because his company car could not go the pace of Russell’s silver arrow. That only changed after his tire change. With the harder and therefore more stable tires, the Dutch flew from one fastest round to the next. The gap to Russell had become significantly lower when the Mercedes pilot turned to a pit stop.
