FC Bayern is looking for reinforcements for the offensive on the transfer market. A Chelsea player is now being associated with the Bundesliga club again.
As the journalist Ben Jacobs reports at short message service X, FC Bayern still has an interest in Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea.
According to the reporter, the attacker is expected to leave the Londoners in summer. The 27-year-old is contractually bound to the blues by 2029.
Nkunku was already a candidate in the past winter transfer period. FC Bayern was also mentioned as a potential buyer at the time. However, the striker stayed with Chelsea FC.
Nkunku was not able to work out a regular place at the freshly baked Conference League winner.
Many rumors about FC Bayern
In the past few weeks, rumors have repeatedly popped up that connected the French to FC Bayern. However, the personnel does not seem to be really hot.
In any case, Nkunku knows the Bundesliga. The offensive player switched from Paris Saint-Germain to RB Leipzig in 2019. In the 2022/23 season, the center forward even became a Bundesliga goalkeeper king.
Nkunku then changed from RB Leipzig to London for around 60 million euros, but was never able to build on the services that he once showed in the German football Oberhaus in the English capital.
For FC Chelsea, Nkunku scored 17 hits in 56 competitive games. After 70 goals (54 templates) in 172 games for RB Leipzig and the rich transfer, the expectations in London were significantly higher. Where the path leads to Nkunkus will be shown in the coming weeks.
Many offensive candidates such as Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao) and Rafael Leao (AC Milan) are currently being traded around FC Bayern.
