Joao Palhinha was considered the desired player of Bayern’s ex-coach Thomas Tuchel, but only hired in Munich when Tuchel had to give the scepter down. The fact that successor Vincent Kompany was rather used for the services of the Portuguese places a fat question mark behind the transfer of 40 to 50 million euros. In the meantime, FC Bayern should even be able to probe the market for customers for Palhinha – but it is supposed to not really play along.

The sporting leadership of FC Bayern is said to have “already heard whether Joao Palhinha has a market”, the “kicker” reports with reference to his own information.

If a club showed interest in the 29-year-old midfielder, one would be ready to talk to the German football record champion.

However, there are some things that Palhinha plans to say goodbye. “I am at one of the best clubs in the world. I feel like fighting. If someone wants to show what they can do, then I,” the international told the “kicker” and added: “I will do everything I can to prove my value.”

The specialist magazine therefore speculates that there could be a need for conversation between the team and the player in the summer to avoid another unsatisfactory season.

Farewell to FC Bayern no self -runner

In 2024/25, Palhinha only came to 24 missions, of which he was only allowed to complete five over the full 90 minutes. Especially in the hot phase of the season, Palhinha only came to short appearances in the Munich jersey.

However, the path to a quick farewell could prove to be stony for several reasons: On the one hand, Bayern should try everything to achieve a transfer, which is as close as possible to the once paid sum as possible, on the other hand, Palhinha (contract until 2028) should collect around 16 million euros in an annual salary. A sum that should put too much strain on the budget of many clubs.
